Improve Drivetrain Efficiency & Durability with Steel CV DriveshaftsSledge’s heavy-duty drivetrain features all-steel construction for maximum torque delivery and long-lasting performance with high-output 6s power. You can outfit your Sledge for even longer drivetrain life, enhanced precision, and peak efficiency by upgrading to steel CV driveshafts. Sledge arrives with front CV shafts in place, and accessory CV shafts are offered to replace the dogbone-style shafts in the the center and rear positions. You’ll find the CV shafts for Sledge at your favorite Traxxas dealer. The stock Sledge drivetrain connects the differentials and rear wheels with heavy-duty “dogbone” shafts. They’re super-strong, but not as efficient or long-wearing as the optional CV center and rear shafts. To further increase durability and extend wear life, Traxxas offers hardened steel differential output cups and stub axles for the accessory CV shafts as well as the stock dogbones. The diagrams below show placement. See all the options available for Sledge driveshafts in this exploded view PDF.
